On Friday Sept. 21 — the International Day of Peace — students at Holy Family School participated in the ‘Pinwheels for Peace’ project by placing handmade pinwheels in front of the school on Poplar Level Road.

The students created the pinwheels in art class and wrote their feelings about peace and tolerance on them. After each grade placed their pinwheels in the ground, the students sang “Peace is Flowing.”

The school also will celebrate its 89th birthday Monday, Sept. 24.
