Sacred Heart Academy seeks nominations for annual awards

Sacred Heart Academy is accepting nominations for its Alumna of the Year. The 2013 recipient will be honored on Feb. 7 during the 23rd annual Alumnae Awards Celebration.

The Alumna of the Year award is presented to a Sacred Heart Academy alumna who has contributed significantly to her community and enriched the lives of those around her.

Nominations also are being sought for the Heart Award, which is given annually to Sacred Heart graduates or individuals who have contributed significantly to their community at large or to the SHA community and faculty.

The Ursuline Teaching Legacy Award will be presented to an alumna who has dedicated 20 or more years to teaching. This award was established in 2008 by the SHA Alumnae Board to honor the Ursuline Sisters’ 150th anniversary of teaching in Louisville.

Sacred Heart Academy is also accepting nominations for “former athletes and coaches and individuals who have been exceptionally loyal supporters of Sacred Heart Academy athletics.”

Nominations also are being accepted for individuals who did not graduate from Sacred Heart Academy, but whose devotion is equal to completing the requirements for a diploma. An honorary diploma will be given to a man, woman, teacher, public figure or former student who attended but did not graduate from SHA.

Nominations and supporting documentation should be mailed to Nannette Mershon, SHA Alumnae Director, Sacred Heart Schools, 3177 Lexington Rd., Louisville, Ky., 40206, or emailed to nmershon@sacredheartschools.org by Oct. 12.
