Students win Derby Festival art awards

Three Catholic school students were recognized by the Kentucky Derby Festival Foundation for placing in its annual art contest.

Kristen Simon placed second in the second- through third-grade division and Andrew Hastings placed third in the kindergarten through first-grade division. Both are students at St. Margaret Mary School.

Hadley Klusman, a student at St. Agnes School, took third place in the fourth- through fifth-grade division.

Colby Ta, a student at St. Nicholas Academy, received an honorable mention in the kindergarten through first-grade division.

The contest is sponsored annually by the Fillies, Inc.
