St. Mary Academy wins Quick Recall tourney

St. Mary Academy won the Catholic Schools Academic League (CSAL) fourth- and fifth-grade Quick Recall Tournament March 12 at St. Rita School, 8709 Preston Highway.

St. Mary-green defeated Sacred Heart Model School-blue 36-16 in one semi-final match. St. Francis of Assisi-blue defeated St. Raphael 27-17 in the other semi-final match.

In the championship match, St. Mary-green defeated St. Francis of Assisi-blue 39-15 to win the tournament championship.

Forty-one teams from 25 schools participated in the fourth- and fifth-grade league this season.
