Spalding’s Huff Gallery will display Derby Festival art winners

The Huff Gallery at Spalding University will host the award winners from the 2014 Kentucky Derby Festival Foundation’s Student Art Contest.

The contest invited students in grades kindergarten through twelve from public, private and parochial schools in Jefferson, Oldham, Clark and Floyd counties to submit two-dimensional art that, according to a release from Spalding, “reflects, interprets or depicts some aspect or event of the Kentucky Derby Festival.”

Works exhibited include those by 31 local students.

The Huff Gallery is located in the Spalding University Library, 853 Library Lane between Fourth and Third streets, and Breckinridge and York streets. The gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. For information, call 873-4436 or contact Joyce Ogden at jogden@spalding.edu.
