Spalding University to host writing festival Nov. 16

Louisville Literary Arts’ ninth annual Writer’s Block Festival will be held on Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Spalding University.

The program includes panels with local authors, book readings and signings, writing workshops, agent pitches and an exhibitor fair for writers and readers.

The festival is free and open to the public, with the exception of workshops and agent pitches.

Workshops will be offered in fiction, playwriting, creative non-fiction, poetry and young-adult fiction. Workshops in fiction and young-adult fiction are open to teen writers. The cost of each workshop is $50. Limited scholarships are available.

Registration for the festival opens at 9 a.m. Festival events will be held at the Spalding University Library, 853 Library Lane, and the Egan Leadership Center, 901 South Fourth Street.
