Sister Beatrice Ann Keller, a mother and nurse, dies

Sister of Charity of Nazaret Beatrice (Bea) Ann Keller died Oct. 31 at Nazareth Home. She was 79 and in her 25th year of religious life.

Sister Keller, a native of Detroit, Mich., was married and raised seven children before she entered religious life. She made her first vows in 1994.

During her ministry, Sister Keller served as a nurse at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in

Louisville and later at Nazareth Home. In 2007 Sister Keller earned a doctoral degree in education at Spalding University and served as an instructor in the university’s school of nursing.

In 2009 Sister Keller moved to the Motherhouse in Nazareth where she served her community as a volunteer and driver.

Sister Keller is survived by her children Renee Keller, Lynn Bergen, Monica Reeve, Al Keller and Robin Binkowski; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her brother Michael Eyl, and members of her religious community.

She was preceded in death by her sons Anthony and Karl Keller.

The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated today, Nov. 7, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Vincent Church. Burial will follow in Nazareth Cemetery.
