Local kids win ice dancing gold medal

Christopher Elder, a freshman at Trinity High School, and his sister Sophia Elder, a seventh-grader at St. Margaret Mary School, won a gold medal at the 2016 Midwestern Sectional Championships ice dancing competition held Nov. 19 in Strongsville, Ohio.

This is the fourth time they’ve won the annual competition. The duo also won the 2015 U.S. figure skating intermediate dance championship earlier this year.
