Schools to stage Christmas plays in the coming weeks

Local schools are presenting plays related to Christmas in the coming weeks, including:

  • Sacred Heart School for the Arts will present Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” at the Ursuline Arts Center, building number five on the Ursuline Campus, 3105 Lexington Road. The play will be presented Dec. 4 at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and on Dec. 5 at 10 a.m and 2 p.m. The cost of tickets for the Dec. 5 morning performance is $4. Tickets for all other showings are $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Tickets can be purchased online at www.showtix4u.com or at the door.
  • The arts school will also present “The Nutcracker” Dec. 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 12 and 13 at 2 p.m. The cost of tickets is $10 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens. Tickets can be purchased online at www.showtix4u.com or at the door.
  • St. Leonard School will present “Yes Virginia, There is a Santa Claus,” on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Clifton Center Theatre, 2117 Payne St.
    Tickets are $5 for adults. Student admission is a canned food item, which will be donated to the Dare to Care Food Bank.
