Indianapolis archbishop to speak at Bellarmine’s commencement

Archbishop Charles C. Thompson of Indianapolis, Ind., will deliver the address at Bellarmine University’s commencement ceremony Dec. 20.

Archbishop Thompson is a former priest of the Archdiocese of Louisville and graduate of Bellarmine’s class of 1983. He was appointed Archbishop of Indianapolis in June.

During the ceremony, Bellarmine will confer 263 degrees and Archbishop Thompson will receive an honorary doctoral degree. This commencement ceremony will be the first one to be presided over by Dr. Susan M Donovan, who was inaugurated in October as Bellarmine’s fourth president.

The ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. in Knights Hall on the university’s campus, 2001 Newburg Road. The ceremony will be streamed live on Bellarmine’s website and Facebook page.
