Catholic Charities will train mentors to refugees

Those interested in serving as mentors to newly arriving refugees are invited to attend an orientation and training seminar on Oct. 14 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Catholic Charities, 2911 S. Fourth St.

Volunteer mentors are asked to befriend new refugees while helping them practice their English skills; introducing them to community resources, such as libraries and parks; and helping them navigate life in their new city.

To attend the training, call Rita Eichert at 637-9786 or send an email to her at reichert@archlou.org.
