Catholic Charities collecting donations for refugee family after child’s death

RecordLogo-FCatholic Charities is accepting donations to assist a refugee family that lost a child last week. Five-year-old Sasher Thaw was accidentally hit by a car and died on June 23.

The Thaw family of five was resettled by Catholic Charities near the end of 2015. They came to Louisville from Burma and belong to the Karen ethnic group.

Now the grieving family needs help covering funeral costs, according to Chris Martini of Catholic Charities.

“This is a trying time for this family, and Catholic Charities will be offering support to the Thaw family in the coming weeks. Those who are interested making a donation to support the family can make contributions to Catholic Charities of Louisville,” Martini said.

To donate or for more information, contact Martini at 637-9786 or cmartini@archlou.org.
