St. Louis Bertrand begins substance abuse ministry

St. Louis Bertrand Church, 1104 S. Sixth Street, will offer a Substance Abuse Ministry (SAM) to alcoholics, addicts and family members and friends of those who deal with addiction.

An education session will be held the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the parish’s former school building. A Holy Hour will be dedicated to this ministry the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. followed by coffee and fellowship.

This program also offers a phone ministry for support and referrals to appropriate local resources. The number to call is 650-3392. The ministry is sponsored and supported by the National Catholic Council on Addictions.
