Sister Virginia Hamilton, 94, dies

Dominican Sister of Peace Virginia Thomas Hamilton, 94, a native of Fredericktown, Ky., died Nov. 5 at the Sansbury Care Center in St. Catharine, Ky. She had been a religious for 72 years.

Sister Hamilton was a teacher, and in Kentucky taught at St. Agnes School and Holy Rosary Academy in Springfield, and at St. Catharine Academy in St. Catharine.

She also served as postmistress for the U.S. Postal Service at St. Catharine for more than 50 years.

Sister Hamilton is survived by several nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial was held Nov. 9 at the Sansbury Care Center Chapel, and burial was in the St. Catharine Motherhouse Cemetery.
