Eagle Scouts
Thirty-six students at St. Xavier High School achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.

Essay contest
Two students from Holy Angels Academy have been named winners in the 2013 “Try Prayer! It Works!” contest.
Emily Ann Johnson placed first in the Grade 12 category, and Brendan Vander Woude placed second in the Grade 2 category.
The 18th annual national competition, which encourages students to express their faith through art, poetry and prose, attracted nearly 1,100 entries from across the country.
Spring concert
Trinity High School will host its annual Spring Concerts April 27 at 7 p.m. and April 28 at 2 p.m. in the school’s theater located on Sherrin Avenue. The shows will feature Trinity’s jazz band and choir. Families are welcome and admission is free. Call Melanie Hughes at 736-2177, for information.

- Assumption High School’s Rose Theatre Company will present “Alice in Wonderland” April 18 and 25 at 7 p.m. and April 20, 21, 27 and 28 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $9 for students and seniors and $14 for adults and can be purchased at the door or preordered at ahsrockets.org. This particular version of Alice in Wonderland is suited for ages third grade and above. - St. Andrew Academy will present “Willy Wonka,” April 26 at 7 p.m. and April 28 at 2 p.m. Both shows will be held at the school, 7724 Columbine Drive. This is St. Andrew Academy’s first spring musical presentation. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Admission for children under age three is free.
- St. Margaret Mary School will present “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” at 7 p.m. April 24 and 25; at 6 p.m. April 26; and at 2 p.m. April 28. All performances will be held at the school, 7813 Shelbyville Road. Tickets bought in advance are $9 for adults and $6 for students and seniors and can be purchased at www.showtix4u.com. Tickets at the door are $10 for adults and $7 for students and seniors.
- Sacred Heart School for the Arts will perform “Mulan, Jr.” on April 25 at 10 a.m., April 26 at 7 p.m., and April 27 at 2 p.m. All shows will be at the Ursuline Arts Center, 3105 Lexington Road. Tickets for the April 25 morning performance are $4. Tickets for the April 26 and 27 performances are $5 for students and seniors and $8 for adults.
