Service trip

Twelve St. Xavier High School students and two adults took a week-long service trip to Belize City and constructed a home for a man and his two children, ages 13 and 7, June 24 through July 1.
The St. X volunteers purchased supplies and constructed a 16-foot by 16-foot home. Additionally, through fundraising efforts, the group purchased bunk beds for the children and a dining table and chairs.
The participants included 2012 graduates Cameron Ubben and Dylan Vish; seniors Eli Kramer, Sam Lavey and Parker Thieneman; and juniors Patrick George, Orion Johns, Will Ostertag, John Shewmaker, Ross Vessels, Andrew Willet and Dean Yoder. The students were accompanied by theology teacher, Rosanna Vessels, and St. X chaplain, Father Anthony Vinson.

Trinity High School’s class of 2012 members Thomas Albrekston, Patrick Brennan and Patrick Heeb finished second in the nation at the Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas, June 29 to July 2. They competed in the category of management decision-making. The students received plaques and a check for $100 to split amongst the three of them.
