New ministry at St. Barnabas Church will host garden plots

The Francis Center, an outreach ministry at St. Barnabas Church, aims to serve the community with a variety of programs. One program that is about to get underway is the center’s Community Garden.

All individuals who live in the 40218 and 40220 zip codes in the Hikes Point and Buechel area are invited to tend one of the 150 garden plots available.

Organizers also hope the garden plots will provide some fresh produce for the food pantry at South East Area Ministries, a news release from the parish said.

A Community Garden Kickoff Celebration will be held April 18 in Gallagher Hall on the campus of St. Barnabas, 3042 Hikes Lane. To learn more about the Francis Center, visit
