Students from four schools raise money for cancer research

RecordLogo-FStudents from Presentation Academy, John Paul II Academy and St. Leonard and St. Paul schools, raised $4,000 to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Pennies for Patients program.

St. Paul students raised close to $3,000 and were honored at a celebration dinner and named a “Lifesaver School.”

The schools took part in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Student Series program where they spent three weeks designing fundraising events. The money raised for the Pennies for Patients program came in part from these events. The students also contributed their spare change.

The LLS is the “world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer” and funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world, according to a press release from the organization.
