Students receive peacemaker awards

RecordLogo-FForty-three students in the Archdiocese of Louisville were awarded Peacemaker Awards by the Society for the Prevention of Aggressiveness and Violence among Adolescents (SPAVA) on May16.

Students receiving the honors were:
St. Nicholas Academy — Brendan O’Brien, Katelyn Allen, Jimmy Weeks, Trey Simmons, Alicesyn Bissinger, David Vong, Haley Lewis, Jolie Parker, Jansen Story, Jayden Burch, Jacob Parker, Lilly Ruzanka, Kelsey Harper, Cate Paul, Darcy Komp, Jayda Chipp, Kyndall Carter, Kaylee Hendrickson, Mauricio Uribe, Wyatt Dawson, Adam Booth, Jamie Hopkins, Dawson Higdon, Erick Le, Noah Beard, Reece Norris and Taylor Clark.
Notre Dame Academy — Jenna Snider, Amelia Roy, Sterling Hirst, Braeden Faust, Sarah Duffy, Trever Olges, Duffy Oakley, Bri Brown, Ben Lampton, Kayden Mulrooney and Brooke Williams.
St. Andrew Academy — Seth Blandford.
St. Stephen Martyr School — Alex Reliford, Rosalind Thompson, Lily Norton and Allison Gates.

In addition, St. Nicholas Academy students Landyn Mitchell, Layla McQueen and Gable Martin received the Peak Award.
Dr. Timir Banerjee, a local neurosurgeon founded SPAVA in 1999 to teach youth about non-violence and peace.
