A group of sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders from Sacred Heart Model School participated in a KET Media Lab workshops in Lexington, Ky., recently.

The students were offered instruction in basic video production and editing and use of iPads and smart phones to create classroom multi-media projects.

KET Media Lab workshops are free to Kentucky public and private schools. The workshops support Kentucky and national academic standards and national technology standards, according to a press release from KET.

During the field trip students also had the opportunity to tour KET’s production facilities and see how programs are made.
KET reaches more than a million people each week through television, online and mobile platforms, said the press release.
