Spalding’s Festival of Contemporary Writing is Nov. 15-22

Spalding University’s Festival of Contemporary Writing, set for Nov. 15 to 22, will feature Pam Muñoz Ryan, author of “Esperanza Rising.” It will also feature the writing of faculty, guests and alumni of the university’s low-residency master of fine arts writing program.

The festival, which is free and open to the public, begins Nov. 15 with readings by faculty in Spalding’s Egan Leadership Center, 901 S. Fourth St., from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Faculty readings will continue Nov. 18 from 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Egan center.

Pam Muñoz Ryan, who is Spalding’s new Diana M. Raab Distinguished Writer-in-Residence, will speak Nov. 19 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Brown Hotel, 335 W. Broadway. She will also sign books.

A celebration of recently published books by Spalding faculty will be held Nov. 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Brown Hotel.

Another faculty reading will be presented Nov. 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. in the Egan Leadership Center. And an alumni reading will take place on Nov. 22 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the center.
