Sister Maria Cecilia Emanuelli dies

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Maria Cecilia Emanuelli died on Aug. 29 at Nazareth Home. She was a professed Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 74 years.

Sister Emanuelli, a native of Dyersville, Tenn., served as an educator in Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she taught at Most Blessed Sacrament and St. Cecilia schools. 

She also served in ministry with orphans in Tennessee and at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, where she served as a bookkeeper, receptionist and the Lifeline Service Coordinator. 

At the motherhouse in Nazareth, Ky., she volunteered as a driver for other sisters, delivered campus mail and ministered in the Apostolate of Prayer.

She is survived by her sister, Frances Webb, and her religious community.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 4 at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Nazareth with burial in Nazareth Cemetery.
