Sister Alice Casper, who served as a pastoral associate, dies

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Alice Casper died July 10 at Nazareth Home. She was 92 and had been a Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 68 years.

Sister Casper served in education ministry in Kentucky, Tennessee and Arkansas. In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she taught at Nazareth Academy and Nazareth College from 1954 to 1966.

She also served as administrator of St. Thomas-St. Vincent Home and she served as the pastoral associate of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church for 20 years, from 1983 to 2003. At Nazareth Home, she served as a volunteer from 2003 to 2015. 

She is survived by her sister, Carol Pohlman, nieces, nephews and her religious community.

The wake will be held on July 17 at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Nazareth Chapel at Nazareth Home, 2000 Newburg Road.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on July 17 in Nazareth Home’s chapel. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Nazareth Cemetery in Nazareth, Ky.
