Serra Club of Louisville starts Friends of Serra program

The Serra Club of Louisville, which promotes vocations, is starting a Friends of Serra program.

The Friends of Serra is for individuals who are unable to become full members of the Serra Club due to time constraints or other difficulties, said an announcement from the organization.

The Friends of the Serra Club can provide much-needed financial support, the announcement said.

The Serra Club meets twice a month. Its activities include annual luncheons for senior women religious and seminarians. The club also sponsors the archdiocesan men’s and women’s conferences and the annual Vocation Essay and Poster Contest in partnership with the Archdiocese of Louisville’s Vocation Office.

Friends of Serra are asked to make a tax-deductible donation of at least $50 each year. Some of the benefits include receiving a monthly club newsletter, which will recognize the Friends of Serra, the opportunity to provide input for the club and its board of directors on furthering the mission, and fellowship with like-minded Christians who care about the future of the Catholic Church.

For more information about how to become Friends of Serra, contact Bob Hublar, president of the club, at 216-0945 or at rjhublar@bellsouth.net.
