Sacred Heart senior named ‘Gatorade’ player

Paige Hammons, a senior at Sacred Heart Academy, was named the Gatorade Kentucky Volleyball Player of the Year by the Gatorade Player of the Year program. Hammons is now a finalist for the national player of the year award. She will also receive a $1,000 grant to donate to a local or national youth sports group of her choice.

The award recognizes athletic experience, high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character on and off the field, ” said a statement from the school.
