Refugees celebrate Thanksgiving with a luncheon

Catholic Charities of Louisville hosted a Thanksgiving luncheon for refugees Nov. 25 at Catholic Charities’ English as a Second Language School, 2234 W. Market St. Refugees, such as Mandola Diabade, left, a native of the Ivory Coast, ate a traditional Thanksgiving meal including pumpkin pie. Diabade and her family arrived in the United States one year ago. The children next to her, Abed Wabu Laombe, left, and his brother Lweso Mechack recently arrived from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
