Program on Blessed Margaret of Castello to be held Feb. 2

The Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapter of the Dominican Laity will present a program on Blessed Margaret of Castello Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. at St. Louis Bertrand Church, 1104 S. Sixth St.
Lay Dominican Brandon Field will present the program on the life and message of Blessed Margaret to the modern world. She was born crippled, with a hunched back and was blind. She was abandoned by her parents and eventually joined the Third Order of St. Dominic.

The 14th century woman is known as the patroness of the unwanted and the unborn and her life and actions are “examples for all who work with and for the marginalized,” according to a news release from the local chapter of the Dominican Laity.

The presentation will be in O’Brien Hall on the third floor of St. Louis Bertrand Church’s Parish Center. The church is home to a statue and relic of Blessed Margaret
