Presentation will present Tower Awards to six women

presentation-logoPresentation Academy will honor six women during its 21st annual Tower Awards dinner Oct. 13 at the Louisville Marriott Hotel, 280 West Jefferson St.

“The Tower Awards is an annual mission-driven event honoring women leaders in their fields and highlighting the contributions and talents of these role models to Presentation Academy students and the Kentuckiana community,” said a press statement from the school. All funds from the event go to the school’s tuition assistance program.

This year’s honorees are:

Arts and Communication — Sharon M. Scott, founder and president of ARTxFM-97.1 FM.
Business Technology and Trade — Susan Weiss, founder, president and CEO of Net Tango Inc.
Education — Marianne H. Hutti, Phd., WHNP-BC, professor and coordinator of the women’s health and family nurse practitioner dual major program at the University of Louisville’s School of Nursing.
Government and Law — Cathy Hinko, executive director of the Metropolitan Housing Coalition.
Science and Healthcare — Dr. Elaine Woerner-Kennedy, a 1971 Presentation graduate and a physician at Family Health Centers.
Service and Advocacy — Karina Barillas, executive director of La Casita Center.

The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Presentation’s principal Barbara Flanders Wine, a 1967 graduate.

The evening will begin with cocktails at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and awards ceremony at 7 p.m. Tickets may be purchased for $100 each or $1,000 for a table of 10.
