Presentation to present Tower Awards

Presentation Academy will honor six women and one man during its 23rd annual Tower Awards ceremony on Oct. 18 at the Louisville Marriott Downtown, 280 West Jefferson St.

“The Tower Awards is an annual mission-driven event honoring women leaders in their fields and highlighting the contributions and talents of these role models to Presentation Academy students and the Kentuckiana community,” according to a statement from the school. A man will be honored for the first time in the program’s history.

All funds from the event benefit the school’s tuition assistance program. This year’s honorees are:

Arts and Communication — Elmer Lucille Allen, ceramic and fiber artist and retired chemist.

Business Technology and Trade — Leigh Pittman, global IT leader at Brown-Forman Corporation.

Education — Valerie Mattingly Casey, a graduate of the class of 73, director of the Women’s Center at the University of Louisville.

Government and Law — Amy Hess, special agent in charge with the FBI

Science and Healthcare — Dana Allen, a graduate of the class of 1975, senior vice president and chief marketing and communications officer at Norton Healthcare.

Service and Advocacy — Stacey Spencer, a graduate of the class of 1988, founder and owner of Teen Tyme Productions Inc.

Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Gary Householder, a long-standing educator at Presentation Academy.

The evening will begin with cocktails at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and the awards ceremony at 7 p.m. Tickets may be purchased for $125 each or $1,250 per table of 10. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Erin Zuber at 583-5935, ext. 103, or ezuber@presentationacademy.org.
