Father J. Mark Spalding, pastor of Holy Trinity Church, said the opening prayer at a Habitat for Humanity house blessing Oct. 19. Holy Trinity and St. Matthews Episcopal churches came together to build a house for Emma Eddins, at left with white hat and wearing glasses. The home is located in the Russell neighborhood.

Below, administrative staff from DeSales High School used their Fall Break holiday to work on a Habitat house sponsored by Shively Area Ministries (which includes several Catholic churches) and Texas Roadhouse. The volunteers, from left, are Justin Lewis, Jennifer Osbourne, Melissa Galbreath and Joshua Blandford. The home is located off Cane Run Road.
