Parish ‘twinning’ organization plans conference in Nashville

The Parish Twinning Program of the Americas will host a national conference and celebrate its 40th anniversary in Nashville Aug. 24-26.

Parishioners of parishes that already have twinning relationships with impoverished parishes in Haiti and Latin America and those who are interested in starting a relationship are invited to attend. The Archdiocese of Louisville currently has eight parishes with twinning relationships, according to the twinning program.

The conference in Nashville, called “One Are We … The Blessings of Twinning,” will offer information about best practices for “building spiritually enriching twinning relationships,” an announcement from the organizers said.
