Kids waltz and sing through summer at Camp Africa

Students, above, taking part in Camp Africa sang in a choir class led by pianist Stachelle Bussey July 18 at the Catholic Enrichment Center, 3146 W. Broadway. Two youngsters, below, Trinitee Carter-Smith and Jamichael Montgomery waltzed during a dance class July 18 at the summer camp. The seven-week program, that ended July 20, served children in first- through eighth-grades. It offered “cultural and academic enrichment opportunities in the areas of math, reading, writing skills, science and more along with a cultural arts experience from an africentric perspective,” according to the Catholic Enrichment Center, a ministry of the Archdiocese of Louisville’s Office of Multicultural Ministry.  (Record Photos by Ruby Thomas)
