Families invited to information meeting at West End center

West End families who are interested in sending their children to Catholic schools are invited to attend a  meeting, held weekly, at Community Catholic Center (CCC) to find out how to do so.

The CCC, located at 3525 Rudd Avenue in the Portland neighborhood, has been helping families by providing tuition aid, tutoring and counseling among other services for more than 13 years.

CCC has a partnership  with seven Catholic elementary schools and all Catholic high schools that enables children from the West End to attend these schools. Most recently, the center started offering the option for students of St. James or St. Leonard schools to ride a bus to school.

“Anyone living in the West End who has the slightest interest in providing a Catholic education for their children or grandchildren needs to give us a call or stop by the center,” said Heidi Hamilton, the center’s executive director. “Many parents and grandparents come to us thinking that a Catholic education is out of reach, but with commitment from all parties it is a very real option.”

CCC serves more than 80 students and hopes to increase that number to 100 by this fall, Hamilton said.

To register for a meeting call 424-9398. For more information, visit www.
