Duke recognizes more than 100 in TIP program

This year, 128 students attending 28 Archdiocese of Louisville schools have been recognized by the Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP).

TIP identifies academically talented seventh-graders in public, nonpublic and home schools. Recognition is based on students’ scores on the SAT or ACT college entrance exams. Students may receive “grand recognition” (the highest scores) or “state recognition.”

Thirteen students received “grand recognition.” They are: John Duplessis, Benjamin Hall, Lucas Karem and Sarah Koch of St. Agnes School; Charlie Brashear of St. Raphael School; Rory Doyle, Maggie Midland and Romith Paily of Sacred Heart Model School; Reagan Sutton of St. Albert the Great School; David Albright, Samuel Downs and Claire Stemmer of St. Margaret Mary School; Carson Ching of St. James School, Elizabethtown, Ky.

Following are students in the archdiocese who received “state recognition:”
