Dominican Sister of Peace Mary Brigid Gregory died Feb. 8 at Sansbury Care Center. She was 92 and in her 69th year of religious life.
Sister Gregory, a native of Louisville, ministered as an educator in Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia and Tennessee.
In the Archdiocese of Louisville, Sister Gregory served as a teacher at St. Catharine Academy in Springfield, Ky. In 1980, she also served as an English instructor at St. Catharine College in St. Catharine, which closed in 2016.
Sister Gregory served as the Motherhouse coordinator at St. Catharine Motherhouse from 1985-1991. She also served as the receptionist at St. Catharine College’s science and health building from 2002 to the school’s closing.
Sister Gregory served as the commission coordinator for the Peace and Justice Centers in Louisville and Memphis, Tenn.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews and members of her religious community.
The visitation will begin Feb. 12 at 4 p.m. in St. Catharine Hall at the Motherhouse.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Feb. 13 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the St. Catharine Motherhouse Cemetery.
