Dominican Sister M. Pauletta Kelly dies at 97

Dominican Sister of Peace M. Pauletta Kelly died Nov. 1. She was 97 and had been a Dominican for 74 years.

Sister Kelly, a native of Greeley, Neb., served as a teacher in Kentucky, West Virginia, Nebraska and Illinois.

In the Archdiocese of Louisville, Sister Kelly taught at Holy Rosary School in Springfield, Ky., and St. Stephen Martyr School.

Sister Kelly also served in the medical field as a director of staff development at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Lebanon, Ky. She also served in medical records and as a secretary at Sansbury Care Center in St. Catharine, Ky.

In 2002 Sister Kelly moved to St. Catharine Motherhouse. In 2012 she entered Sansbury Care Center where she carried out a ministry of prayer and presence until her death.

Visitation will be Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. at the Sansbury Care Center Chapel.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Nov. 7 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sansbury Care Center chapel. Burial will follow in the St. Catharine Motherhouse Cemetery.
