Catholic Cemeteries hosted a prayer service, “Serving God and Country: A Memorial Day Salute to Our Heros,” May 31 at St. Michael Cemetery, 1153 Charles St.

Individuals were invited to drop off tribute letters and photographs for past and present service members in a box at the Cemteries’ office throughout the month of May.

Prayers and photos were also collected during the service and buried afterward. The service concluded with a 21-gun salute and the playing of “Taps.”
