Archdiocese serves as partner in mayor’s ‘Give a Day’ service program

RecordLogo-FMayor Greg Fischer’s annual Give A Day week of service program is scheduled for April 15 to 23.

One of the program’s sponsors is the Archdiocese of Louisville. Mary Beth Bowling, assistant superintendent of Catholic schools, said that participation in the mayor’s week of service “allows our students to firmly establish their commitment to community by performing acts of service that connect them with others outside the walls of their classroom.”

A number of schools, parishes and agencies will take part in various service projects, including Our Lady of Lourdes School and Trinity High School. Our Lady of Lourdes will do work to support St. Matthew’s Area Ministries and Trinity will perform cleanup and landscaping duties at Meadowview Cemetery.
