Bellarmine to host forum on the pope’s challenge to the American church

Bellarmine University will host “The Francis Effect: A Radical Pope’s Challenge to the American Catholic Church,” a program hosted by John Gehring, author of the book with the same title, on Nov. 10.

The panel discussion will begin at 7 p.m. in Bellarmine’s Cralle Theater located in Wyatt Hall. Gehring is the Catholic program director at Faith in Public Life, an advocacy group based in Washington, D.C.

Panelists will include Sister Susan Gatz, president of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth; Father Patrick Delahanty, director of the Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the Death Penanlty; and Jo Lawless, chair of St. Agnes Church’s parish and community ministry team.

The event is free and open to the public.
