SERVICES & DEVOTIONS
In observance of the 250th anniversary of the United States, the Cathedral of the Assumption, 433 S. Fifth St., will hold a trinity of prayer services in thanksgiving and intercession for the country.
The first will be the praying of The Patriotic Rosary following the noon Mass on May 17, the United States National Day of Prayer.

The St. Serra Club of Louisville, which promotes religious vocations, will hold a Holy Hour for Vocations after the noon Mass on May 13 at St. Margaret Mary Church, 7813 Shelbyville Road. All are welcome.
St. Luke Church, 4211 Jim Hawkins Dr., will host a display of the work of St. Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint, on May 16 after the 4 p.m. Mass and May 17 after the 10 a.m. Mass. For more information, contact stlukelouisville@gmail.com.
A Special Disciples of Jesus Mass will be celebrated on May 17 at 3 p.m at St. Margaret Mary Church, 7813 Shelbyville Road. Special-needs families and friends are invited to attend the shortened Mass intended for children. A light reception will follow. St. Patrick Church, 1000 N Beckley Station Road, will host a “Rosary for Peace” prayer night on May 21 at 7 p.m. It is open to all.
RETREATS
Mark Meade will lead a retreat called “Finding and Losing Ourselves in Art with Thomas Merton” at the Nazareth Retreat Center on the campus of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Nazareth, Ky., May 29-31.
Meade is the assistant director of the Thomas Merton Center in Louisville and is a past president of the International Thomas Merton Society.

“Heart on Fire,” a day-long women’s workshop, will be offered on May 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. CDT at the St. Meinrad Guest House and Retreat Center. The retreat will be led by Jane Feliz Rush, a writer and former campus minister. The fee for the workshop is $75 per person, and it includes lunch. VOCATIONS
The St. Serra Club of Louisville will have Franciscan Father John Pozhathuparambil, director of campus ministry for Bellarmine University, speak at its next meeting on May 18 at 11:30 a.m. in the Golden Corral, 4032 Taylorsville Road. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Catholic Charities of Louisville needs volunteers to help support an array of programs, including:
- Tour hosts are needed to welcome visitors to the “People of Hope” Mobile Museum May 14 and 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and May 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Waterfront Park under the Big Four Bridge.
- Childcare volunteers for the Mama Matters Program are needed from May 27 to July 31. Two adults and two teenage youth (14 years or older) are needed each shift at the agency’s main office, 435 E. Broadway.
HERE & THERE
The Catholic Single Adults Club is hosting a night out on May 10 for singles 50 and over. Putt-Putt begins at 3 p.m., and dinner at El Nopal will follow at 5 p.m. For more information and locations, call 553-1476.
The Loretto Community will host two free concerts in May in the Loretto Motherhouse church, 515 Nerinx Road.
- May 12 at 7 p.m. — performance by folk singer Charlie King.
- May 16 at 10:30 a.m. — performance by pianist Lillian Chung.
The St. Francis Xavier Sew-cialize Group will hold a “Sewing and socializing quilt exhibit” at the St. Joe Community Center in Raywick, Ky. The two-day event will be held on May 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again on May 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission is free and includes refreshments and door prizes. A Kentucky quilt will be raffled on May 17. Raffle proceeds will go to the parish’s Insulation Restoration Project. Donations are welcome. For more information, contact Nancy Miles at manny57@windstream.net.
The Ladies of Good Shepherd will hold their Card Party for a Cause on May 12 in the parish’s Lehmann Hall, 3525 Rudd Avenue.

ALUMNI EVENTS

SUPPORT GROUPS
Nourish for Caregivers — a program for those caring for an aging parent, spouse or loved one — meets in St. Margaret Mary Church’s Spirituality Center, 7813 Shelbyville Road, and via Zoom every second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. The next meeting is May 13. Parents of Addicted Loved Ones (PAL) meets weekly on Sundays from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at St. John Paul II Church, 3525 Goldsmith Lane.
DivorceCare, a weekly seminar/support group designed to help divorced or separated people heal, will meet on Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. from May 12 to Aug. 4 at St. Bernadette Church, 6500 St. Bernadette Avenue, Room 700.

EDUCATION & ENRICHMENT
The Adult Christian Enrichment Program of St. Bernadette Church is offering a series of classes via Zoom. The programs will be offered on Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and again on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
