St. Francis of Assisi students demonstrate against hate

Photo Special to The Record

St. Francis of Assisi School students demonstrated outside their school Jan. 13 in response to a spate of anti-Semitic attacks in the Northeast. The school’s Anti-Semitic Awareness Day was part of the social justice and Holocaust studies program, which teaches students to stand up against all forms of hate and prejudice, said teacher Fred Whittaker. “The students have been exploring their calling to create solidarity with all who remain caught in the crosshairs of prejudice and hate,” he said.
