St. Francis, St. Albert win at Quick Recall

St. Francis of Assisi School won the Catholic School Academic League’s (CSAL) sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade Quick Recall tournament held Nov. 12 at St. Aloysius School in Pewee Valley, Ky.

St. Albert the Great School won the CSAL’s sixth-grade Quick Recall tournament, which was held Nov. 11 at Notre Dame Academy.

In the sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade division, St. Francis of Assisi defeated St. Agnes-White in one semi-final match 41-22 and Holy Trinity-Black defeated St. Aloysius-Yellow 34-24 in the other semi-final match. St. Francis of Assisi defeated Holy Trinity-Black in the championship match 30-21 to win the tournament.

Thirty-six teams from 24 schools participated in the sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade league this season.

In the sixth-grade division, St. Albert-Blue defeated St. Mary Academy in one semi-final match 26-25 and St. Albert-Gold defeated St. Aloysius 22-20 in the other semi-final match. St. Albert-Blue defeated St. Albert-Gold 26-19 to win the tournament.

Nineteen teams from 17 schools participated in the sixth-grade league this season.
