Event seeks to break record for world’s largest potluck

Big Table, a potluck-style event, will take place Sept. 16 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Iroquois Park.

Individuals are encouraged to invite their friends, family, coworkers, colleagues and neighbors to bring a dish and come together as a community.

“In doing so, you will be helping us reach 3,500 attendees in a bid to beat a world record,” information provided by organizers said.

To be counted, each person must bring a dish to share with at least six people, and be present from 5:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.

In addition, organizers are searching for 450 table leaders, including bilingual speakers, to host a table of eight and facilitate conversation. Table leaders should arrive by 4 p.m. The event is sponsored the Global Human Project, a non-profit organization based in Louisville.
