Kids may enter Vocations Essay Contest

Children in grades four to eight are invited to take part in the annual Vocations Essay Contest sponsored by the Serra Club of Louisville and the Archdiocese of Louisville Vocation Office.

This year, students are asked to answer one of the following questions:

  • “Married Life? Single Life? Priesthood? Vowed Religious Life? Permanent Diaconate? What should you do to discern the appropriate vocation God is calling to you?”
  • “People call a priest father. How is a priest father to the people of the parish?”

The winners will receive a certificate and cash prize of $100 and will be invited to a recognition luncheon.
Essays should be submitted to the vocation office by Oct. 16. Winners will be announced the week of Nov. 2.
For more information or a submission form, call 636-0296, ext. 1271.
