Winners of Serra contest wrote about vocations

Winners of the Vocations Essay Contest sponsored by the Serra Club of Louisville, which promotes vocations, and the Archdiocese of Louisville Vocation Office have been announced.

  • In the seventh- and eighth-grade division, Ryan Baldwin, an eighth-grader at St. Martha School, won first place; Helene Senn, also an eighth-grader at St. Martha won second place; and Matthew Dyer, a seventh-grader at St. James School in Elizabethtown, Ky., won third place.
  •  In the fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade division, sixth-graders Natalie Shaw, Natalie Williams and Abbie Kienzle won first, second and third place respectively. All three students attend St. James in Elizabethtown.

The first-place winners received a $100 cash prize, a certificate and were recognized at a luncheon Nov. 16 at The Bistro on the Masonic Homes’ campus.
