Louisville Master Chorale opening season concert set for Oct. 25

The Louisville Master Chorale will open its season with a performance of “To Be Certain of the Dawn” Oct. 25 at the Congregation Adath Jeshurun, 2401 Woodbourne Ave.

The event will start at 2:15 p.m. with a pre-concert program led by Dr. John Hale “to explore the repertoire being performed,” according to a press release. The performance will begin at 3 p.m.

“ ‘To Be Certain of the Dawn’ is a memorial oratorio by Stephen Paulus commissioned in 2005 as commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the freeing of holocaust survivors and the 40th anniversary of Vatican II declaration, Nostra Aetate,” said Mark Walker, artistic director of the Louisville Master Chorale, in the press release.

A performance of Handel’s oratorio “Israel in Egypt” will also be featured on this program.

Tickets are $20 each. For more information, contact the chorale at 657-5248, inbox@LouisvilleMasterChorale.org or visit www.LouisvilleMasterChorale.org.
