Assumption High School to host Scholar Fest

AssumptionLogo2015-fAssumption High School’s annual Scholar Fest is set for Sept. 23 and 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the Assumption Theatre on the school’s campus, 2170 Tyler Lane.

Fourteen seniors will present their findings of three years of independent research in the school’s McAuley Scholars Program.

The students have been working with a faculty advisor and community mentor since sophomore year on individual research topics. Their work will culminate with the publication of a thesis and a presentation at a symposium.

The Scholar’s Thesis candidates are: Claire Babey, Colleen Begley, Abbey Glover, Kailyn Deitz, Sydney LaRue, Lizzie Hamilton, Emma Nunn, Sarah Metzger, Alli Revers, Alexis Simon, Lindsey Smith, Jenn Stein, Ashley Will and Holly Zoeller.

Their research topics explored “the truth behind happiness,” crime and how the media exacerbates and benefits from it, human trafficking and modern day slavery and food chemicals in the human body.
