Visiting Nurse Association Nazareth Home Care celebrates 125 years

The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) Nazareth Home Care is celebrating its 125th anniversary this month.
The Visiting Nurse Association was founded in 1890. It merged in 2005 with Nazareth Home Care, which was established by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth.

VNA Nazareth Home Care, a member of the KentuckyOne Health system, “provides treatment or assistance to patients who are recuperating, chronically ill or disabled, in the comfort of their home,” according to a statement from the organization.

“Despite all the advances in medicine over the last century, the power of a home visit to deliver help and healing to those in need is timeless,” said Alice Bridges, vice president of Healthy Communities at KentuckyOne Health.

VNA Nazareth Home Care hosted an event Nov. 21 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel to celebrate the milestone.
