Ursuline Sister of Louisville Annunciata Muth, an educator, dies

Ursuline Sister of Louisville Annunciata Muth, 93, died at Nazareth Home-Clifton Feb. 9. She entered the Ursulines in 1945 and recently celebrated her 75th year as a professed religious.

Sister Muth, a native of Louisville, ministered primarily in education and spent 59 years serving in 15 different schools.

In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she taught at St. Francis of Assisi, St. Raphael, St. Elizabeth, St. Helen, St. Theresa, St. Rita, St. Jerome and St. Athanasius schools, as well as, Sacred Heart Academy and Sacred Heart Model School.

She served as a teaching assistant at Holy Spirit School form 1997 to 2006. She also taught in Indiana, Ohio and Nebraska.

She also served as a volunteer at United Crescent Hill Ministries.

She is survived by her sister Dorothea Muth Redmon of Louisville, several nieces and nephews, as well as her community of Ursuline sisters and associates.

Visitation will be held at the Ursuline Motherhouse Chapel, 3115 Lexington Road, Feb. 12 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by a prayer vigil.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Feb. 13 at 11 a.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel with burial in St. Michael Cemetery.
