Ursuline Sister Mary Louise Knott, 84, dies

Sister Mary Louise Knott, 84, died May 3 at Mount Saint Joseph, Ky. She was in her 53rd year of religious life and was a native of Browns Valley, Ky.

Sister Knott taught at four elementary schools in Louisville — St. James, St. Edward, St. Margaret Mary and St. Bernard schools. She also ministered in the Diocese of Owensboro, Ky., Missouri and Nebraska.

Survivors include five sisters, Alma Gaw, Roberta Knott and Dottie Elder, all of Owensboro; Rosita Libbs of Evansville, Ind., and Kathleen Boldrick of Santa Maria, Calif.; three brothers, Martin and Walter Knott, both of Owensboro, and Paul Knott of Miamisburg, Ohio; nieces and nephews and members of her religious community. Visitation will be May 6 at 4 p.m. at Mount Saint Joseph in Maple Mount, Ky. A wake service will follow at 6:30 p.m. The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. May 7 at Mount Saint Joseph. Burial will be held May 7 at Mount Saint Joseph. Memorial gifts may take the form of donations to the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph, 8001 Cummings Road, Maple Mount, Ky.
